What is Ring & Ride and can I use it?

Our Ring & Ride service provides friendly accessible transport for people of all ages & abilities who are unable to easily access public transport. To use Ring & Ride, simply register your details with us initially and then pre-book your seat whenever you wish to join the bus. Where possible, we offer a “door-to-door” service and can accommodate passengers travelling in wheelchairs.

What if I need to use a Scooter?

We are unable to carry mobility scooters, but we can take you to our Shop & Leisure Mobility Centre in Tiverton on request.

Where and when can I travel?

Our Ring & Ride service offers a weekday trip from neighbouring villages to local destination towns, arriving approximately 11am and departing approximately 1pm. Please click on the relevant link below for detail on our current routes to and from:

Area 3= Crediton, Pathfinder Village, Tedburn St Mary, Whitstone& Holcombe Burnell.

Area 4=  Crediton, Black Dog, Poughill, Kennerleigh, Stockleigh English,  Sandford, Stockleigh Pomeroy, Shobrooke, Cheriton Fitzpaine & Upton Hellions.

Area 5= Crediton, Chawleigh (Fortnightly)

Area 6= Crediton, Sandford, Shobrooke, Cheriton Fitzpaine

Monday – Area One The following route runs to Crediton Town Centre every Monday:

  • Starting from Crediton area  9.10am via villages including Coldridge, Nymet Rowland and Lapford.
  • Return journey departs Crediton 1pm.

Tuesday – Area Two The following route runs to Crediton every Tuesday:

  • Starting from Crediton area  9.15amvia villages including Morchard Bishop, Down St Mary, Yeoford, Copplestone, Colebrook, Zeal monachorum, Bow and Clannaborough.
  • Return journey departs Crediton 1pm.

Wednesday – Area Three Exeter City Centre/ Sainsbury’s

Starting from the Crediton area  9.15amvia villages including Pathfinder Village, Tedburn St Mary, Whitstone and Holcombe Burnell.

  • Return journey departs Exeter  1pm.

Thursday – Area four The following route runs to Crediton every Thursday:

  • Starting from the Crediton area  9.00 via villages including Black Dog, Poughill, Kennerleigh, Stockleigh English, Sandford, Shobrooke, Stockleigh Pomeroy, Cheriton Fitzpaine and Upton Hellions.
  • Return journey departs Crediton 1pm.

Friday – Area Five & Six The following route runs to Crediton alternate Friday

  • Starting from the Chulmleigh ,Chawleigh and Egglesford area  9.30 
  • Return journey departs approx 1pm

Friday – The following route runs to Tiverton once a month

  • Starting from the Crediton area  9.00 via villages including Black Dog, Poughill, Kennerleigh, Stockleigh English, Sandford, Shobrooke, Stockleigh Pomeroy, Cheriton Fitzpaine and Upton Hellions.
  • Return journey departs approx 1.30pm.

We are always looking to improve and trial new Ring & Ride services. Services could run fortnightly or monthly and we could consider alternating the destination or day of travel according to suggested preferences, if you think your area isn’t covered or have an idea of how to make the service better please contact us on 01363 773303.

How do I book?

Call us on 01363 773303 (between 9am and 4pm Monday to Thursday) or email us at sarah@middevonmobility.org.uk.  Once registered, trips can be booked up to 2 weeks in advance but no later than 3.30pm the previous working day.

How much does it cost?

For most Ring & Ride services, we offer a fixed return fare from as little as £5. We are unable to accept the National Bus Pass, but hope to do so in the future.

How is Ring & Ride funded?

Our Ring & Ride service is partially funded by Devon County and Mid Devon District Councils  – The remainder is funded through fares and donations, It is a service we provide it as part of our charitable objectives and public benefit to help improve transport opportunities to individuals within the community.
